Martina Kapitza receives Cornelsen Special Prize for Environment and Sustainability
Martina Kapitza was one of the winners of the Cornelsen Special Prize for Environment and Sustainability (Cornelsen Sonderpreis Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit) for her innovative teaching project “Experiencing Nature” (“Natur erleben”).
The project involved the development of an interactive educational forest trail at the Westensee Nature Park, focusing on the topics of forests, climate, and habitats. Its aim was to make ecological relationships tangible and to communicate nature through artistic approaches, actively involving students in the creative process. The project was particularly praised for its interdisciplinary, participatory, and sustainable structure, uniting science, art, and pedagogy into a vibrant learning process in which students not only acquire knowledge but also actively shape it.
We warmly congratulate Martina on this well-deserved recognition.
