Graphical Design (online)

Dear young researchers of the CRC 1182,

In this zoom workshop we want to give you an introduction to the basics of visual science communication and talk about the graphic design behind it. What are the do’s and don’ts? How do I rationally distinguish between good and bad visualizations? We will focus on the topic of “graphical abstracts” and also do a small practical exercise. As a second point we want to talk about good data/information visualization. We will explain different tools: Design tools like “Affinity design” but also online data visualization tools.

In a short interlude, we would like to talk about important visualizations specifically in the CRC metaorganisms context with you, in order to use this information for the interactive meeting point, which we currently are developing for the CRC.
